Bright interior with loft touch – individual fit out design
One of our recent fit out projects was an order from our clients in Katowice regarding the complex finishing of their newly purchased apartment in a developer standard. Our clients have cooperated with our company before, few years ago when finishing a flat in another investment, and decided to give us their another apartment to arrange. The apartment is 40 m2 and is located in the Pierwsza Dzielnica investment.
During the interview at the beginning of our cooperation, our clients mentioned several issues that they wanted to include in the desing. First was large sofa and an armchair in the living room, because clients like to host guests. Next thing was that the kitchenette with the living room were meant to be the one, coherent space. Another requirements was to arrange the maximum amount of storage space in the flat; the interior was expected to be bright, with black elements referring to the loft style. We have started to meet the above requirements step by step.
We have achieved the consistency of the kitchenette with the living room by using the same kind of finishing of the floor: moisture-resistant floor panels, which can be successfully used in the kitchen. We also decided to reduce amount of the hanging cabinets – arranging them only above area around sink, and above the induction hob we placed the hood, which is surrounded by a custom-made hanging shelf. This way, we managed to achieve the effect of interpenetration of the living room`s and the kitchen annex` spaces.
The kitchen has minimalist and modern look. Its simple form has been mixed with the unusual pattern of tiles that reaches 40 cm above the table top, creating a zigzag shape – the backlighting enhances this interesting detail even more. It`s a fun and surprising accent that gives this part of the apartment an original character. Our clients are not big fans of suspended ceilings, so we used this solution only in one place, in the kitchen annex, above the cabinets – which allowed to hide the pipe from the eaves.
We have selected a floor panels with an expressive wood pattern and lots of knots, and set it with black accessories: lamps, coffee table, eaves, chairs and hanging shelves, which gave the interior touch of loft spirit.
In the living room, the wallpaper in the form of a mural is a leading decorative element, which is a variation on the theme of … a dandelion? the sun? The interpretation of the graphics depends entirely on our imagination!
The bedroom has been designed as a bright and cozy place. Our clients wanted to include there a Scandinavian bed and large bedside tables with deep drawers; we managed to meet all these conditions.
In the bathroom, the key role was to be played by the fitted furniture filling the recess next to the ventilation shaft. We prepared a design of cabinet ensuring a space for a washing machine, dryer, ironing board and other bathroom items: chemicals and towels.
A large shower was also an important part of the concept to our clients, so we focused on a custom-sized shower enclosure that fits the entire width of the bathroom. The concealed frame, on which the toilet bowl was hung, has been hidden in a wall made of plasterboard, in which recesses acting as shelves in the shower and shelves next to the washbasin were cut out. The washbasin has been set with a beautiful oval mirror with a built-in LED strip and two hanging lamps.
We had to also find a good solution for a multimedial board: located in the hall, on the wall right next to the entrance to the apartment, unfortunately could not be moved. We have hidden this unelegant element in a fitted wardrobe, between the shelves.
The finishing works took two months and everything was completed in accordance to our clients` vision – once again our cooperation went smoothly. We are very happy every time when our clients we previously worked with come back to us after years. We realize that our cooperation is remembered by them as a successful and that they still place great trust in us, by letting us design interior of the apartment of they dreams.
